Liquid silicone injection molding should pay attention to what?

The difference between liquid silicone and solid silicone

Liquid silicone is a kind of flexible thermosetting material, non-toxic, heat resistant, high resilience. Compared with solid high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, it is a liquid silicone with good fluidity, fast vulcanization, safer and more environmentally friendly, and can fully meet food grade requirements. In addition, liquid silicone products are soft and hardness can reach 10°C-40°C. Due to its soft properties, it is widely used in the simulation of human organs and medical silicone breast pads.

LSR is a two-liquid rapid vulcanization material with platinum as catalyst, which can be produced by injection molding, mass, rapid vulcanization, and repeated machinery. Its products have good thermal stability, cold resistance, excellent electrical insulation properties, and will not produce toxic substances when burning. However, due to the high expansion coefficient of LSR, it expands when heated and shrinks slightly when cooled. As a result, parts cannot maintain precise side spacing in the mold.

In addition, the cured LSR is easy to stick to the metal surface, the more common release technology includes thimble and air push, liquid silicone is divided into A glue and B glue, the use of quantitative devices to control the ratio of 1:1, injection injection molding production, liquid silicone into the hot channel mold, manufacturing silicone products, can be formed without waste and automation.
